Race Information Update!

Packet Pick-up -  This year’s packet pickup is located at the Big Bear Vacations office at 41693 Big Bear Blvd on Wednesday from 2pm to 7pm. Same day registration and packet pick-up is also avaialbe at Meadow Park beginning at 7am.

Costume Contest – We’ve got delicous baked goods from our friends at Sugar Pine Bakery for the best dressed. Judging for the contest starts at 8:30am. If you want to be in the running make sure to show up in time to see the judges for the start of the race!

Parking Information – Start/Finish is located at Meadow Park at 41220 Park Ave. The easiest way to access parking for the event is to turn north onto Knight Ave from Big Bear Blvd. This is at Denny’s and across from Blauer’s Board Shp and leads directly to the parking at Meadow Park while staying off of the race route.

7:00am – Registration Open
9:00am – 9 Mile Start
9:15am – 6 Mile Start
9:30am – 3 Mile Start
10:15am – Raffles, Costume Contest and Awards!

It looks like beautiful weather is in store for our Thanksgiving Day however be prepared for 30′s at the start of the day and then warming up quickly.

Great News! We are extending our Wednesday Packet Pickup!

Come see us upstairs at Nottingham’s from 6pm – 9pm on Wednesday November 27th to pick up your race packet! Sleep in on Thursday…Pick up your packet on Wednesday!

Get ready for some Thanksgiving day fun in Big Bear Lake at the 1st Big Bear Turkey Trot 3, 6, and 9 mile fun runs! Some important details about the event.

Location: Meadow Park – MAP

Packet Pickup – We encourage everybody to pick up their run packets on Wednesday November 27th from 12 – 5pm at the Event Site at Meadow Park. Packet Pickup will be also be available on race morning for anyone who cannot make Wednesday from 7am – 8:30am.

Run Information – The runs will start at the following times.
9 Mile – 9:00am
6 Mile – 9:15am
3 Mile – 9:30am

bbturkeytrotmapCourse Information – The runs will follow a gently rolling 3 mile loop through the Eagle Point neighborhood. 6 milers will make 2 laps and 9 milers will go 3. There will be 2 water stations and 1 aid station on the course. The roads will remain open and we will run on the right, as if we are flowing with traffic (opposite of how you normally run on the road). The course will be marked well and course marshals will help at the major intersections. You may walk, jog, run, or trot around the course. Joggers, strollers and dogs are all allowed. If you bring your furry friend make sure to have something to pick up after them and keep them on a leash at all times.

Costumes – Are strongly recommended. Come as your best Bear or Turkey, or whatever else makes you feel festive, and you may walk away with a cool prize from one of our sponsors! Remember, this is a fun event so that we can give thanks for living a healthy lifestyle, not the Olympic Trials!

The first-ever Big Bear Turkey Trot is on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 28, at Meadow Park. Earn your turkey dinner with a 3-mile, 6-mile or 9-mile road run in Big Bear Lake.
